About the dictionary
The Sociology Dictionary is a free online reference for the concepts, theories and thinkers of sociology. It currently holds 385 definitions, and more are added over time.
Each entry opens with a plain-language definition, then places the idea in context: who developed it, how it has been debated, and where it is used. Terms mentioned in an entry link to their own entries, so you can follow an idea from one definition to the next.
